RSM’s strength lies in how well it manages long term projects on behalf of its clients. Its new projects will typically involve 18 months pre-planning and tooling development work before a further 6 years of JIT component production during the vehicle model life, which is why RSM understands the importance of detailed planning and design work to ensure such long term projects are delivered efficiently and consistently. 

RSM bespoke ‘Project Tracker’ Software

In response to its clients’ needs, RSM has developed its own in-house ‘Project Tracker’ software, in order to facilitate the effective coordination of large scale and complex projects. ‘Project Tracker’ ensures a seamless process incorporating the product design, tool development and pre-production planning stages. Clients can see for themselves the detailed planning involved and can chart the progress of their own projects, instilling confidence that project delivery will be on-time and within budget.

Providing Solutions

RSM is a ‘solutions provider’, not just a manufacturing facility, and will regularly invest in new equipment for suitable projects in order to ensure the most cost effective and efficient solution for the client. Because of its in-house capability and lean manufacturing techniques, RSM is able to fund large scale tooling projects for new product designs, and will become involved in the design work at an early stage  so that its automated production processes can be optimised to ensure the most efficient and cost effective manufacturing processes.

Progressive Die - specialising in highly complicated tools in light to heavy gauge high strength steels, up to 1000mm wide coil.

Conventional and deep draw components up to 750 tonnes.

• Tube manipulation - CNC bending and end-forming of tubes up to 25mm in diameter.

Assembly

• Welding - one of the best equipped automated welding capabilities in the automotive sector, with recent new investment in robotic arc and spot and projection welding equipment.

• Small repetition work - drilling, tapping and assembly.

Tool Design and Manufacture

Fully equipped Tool Room for the design and production of new tooling jigs and fixtures, and the rapid servicing of existing in-house tools.
